Births Deaths and Marriages Self-Service Kiosk

In tandem with our sister company IQ KIOSK, we were asked to produce secure, dedicated self-service kiosks to allow customers to complete the relevant forms to apply for birth, marriage and other certificates.

Given the Registry already made these forms available on their website, we originally investigated the use of a dedicated off-the-shelf software product like Provisio SiteKiosk, but their very specific requirements could only be properly met through custom software.

The kiosks present BDM’s existing web-based certificate application forms in a purpose-built custom kiosk app, modifying the forms to remove irrelevant fields and options as required. The software has been custom-branded to adhere to the Registry’s strict brand guidelines, and provides staff with a simple interface for managing kiosk settings such as screen saver text and delays, and for transferring those settings between kiosks.

The software running on our Slimline kiosk. Despite the touch screen, we use conventional keyboards (as opposed to an on-screen keyboard) to make text entry easier for long forms.
